The Black Forest Bag, inspired by the woods of Scotland, is a tangled, overgrown patch of shadow made wearable: layers of texture, creeping vines, patches of moss, and raw yarn.
Design Complexity:
Depth of Texture: Built up with multiple techniques, sculpted crochet shapes, painted patches, and real preserved elements. No shortcut exists for this, it’s hours of layering, blending, and sculpting to get that wild forest floor look.
Nature in Pieces: Snippets of faux moss, tiny tendrils, and stray roots are stitched in by hand, real nature elements from the Scottish Highlands.
Hand-Dyed Elements: Some yarns and patches are dyed and painted by hand to add depth, shadows, and that earthy, damp feeling you only find deep in the woods.
Textural Mix: Combines smooth cotton, fuzzy mohair, rough acrylic, and garden moss fabric, all working together to mimic the forest’s unpredictable layers.
